Bowie High School Community Input Meeting Successful

Gathering of more than 150 parents, teachers and students provide thoughtful input

Thank you to the more than 150 parents, teachers and students who gathered yesterday to voice their concerns and give input on the selection process for a new principal for Bowie High School. The meeting highlighted the characteristics that are most important to the community.

Some of the top agreed upon ideas included creating and maintaining a positive school culture, involving parents, promoting high student expectations and providing instructional leadership.

It was clear to everyone present that Bowie High School has a dedicated and passionate community of parents who want to see the school flourish. The PTSO thanks everyone that took time from their busy schedule to attend the meeting, we value your input and hope we can partner together in the new school year.

If you were not able to attend the meeting we encourage you to take a brief online survey so we may gather your thoughts on what characteristics you find most valuable in a new principal.

What kind of message would we send to our Board of Education and CEO Kevin Maxwell if every single parent, student and teacher completed the online survey? We will settle for nothing less than the absolute best for our students, and we will advocate for the students to have nothing less than excellent leadership.
