UPDATED Commuter Alert: Person Hit by WMATA Train in Greenbelt

The Greenbelt Metro Station has reopened Wednesday after someone was hit by a train.

The Greenbelt Metro Station reopened about 2 p.m. Wednesday after someone was struck by a train, according to an alert from Prince George’s County.

Just after 1 p.m., the Prince George’s County Fire Department said on Twitter that the patient was removed from under the train.

Shuttle buses were running between the Greenbelt and College Park Metro Station.

Yellow Line trains are operating normally, according to the WMATA website.

The transit service says to expect minor residual delays on the Green Line because of the accident.
