Cop Wows in Viral Jump Rope Video: Watch

Corporal Alan Jones doubles down on his community outreach role with the Prince George's County Police Department.


His “day job,” says Alan Jones, is serving as a Prince George’s County Police officer.

That includes community outreach. But who could have guessed that awesome Double Dutch rope-jumping is part of his skill set?

Corp. Jones dropped by Community Day on Aug. 22 at Victorious Life of Faith in District Heights. One of the activities going on was Double Dutch rope with the DC Retro Jumpers.

Jones jumped in, heavy-duty belt and all, to show some moves. He spun, he did jumping jacks while also jumping rope, and he combined all the steps to applause from the crowd.

The next day Jones, who is also a Realtor at Keller Willams Realty Centre in Frederick, posted a video of his feat on his Facebook page. And it took off, with nearly 400,000 views to date, a couple thousand “likes” as of Tuesday, and more than 6,500 shares.
