DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — A Prince George's County daycare worker is facing charges after authorities said she abused a child.

Latayzia Forbes, 21, of Bowie, was charged with second-degree child abuse and second-degree assault after Prince George's County police were called to Morning Starr Childcare Center in District Heights on Thursday.

According to police, Forbes had been employed as a childcare provider since 2021.

Authorities did not release details about the incident. Forbes was arrested after police conducted interviews, reviewed surveillance footage and consulted with the Office of the State's Attorney, according to authorities.
