DC Man Charged In Fatal Shooting Of Temple Hills Motorcyclist: Prince George's Police

A Washington, D.C., man has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a Temple Hills motorcyclist, Prince George's Police say.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 46-year-old Washington, D.C., man has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of 48-year-old Brian Akinfe of Temple Hills.

On Sept. 2 at approximately 7:40 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to Branch Avenue and St. Barnabas Road for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle. Officers found Akinfe in the road unresponsive near his motorcycle. While administering aid, first responders discovered that Akinfe has been shot. He was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries on Sept. 12.

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives identified and charged Christopher Cross in connection with Akinfe's fatal shooting. A preliminary investigation revealed Cross and Akinfe knew each other and were involved in an ongoing dispute.
