Deceased Baby Discovered In PG County High School: Police

BELTSVILLE, MD -- A deceased baby was discovered in a bathroom at High Point High School in Beltsville on Wednesday.

A School Resource Officer assigned to the school discovered the baby, and a preliminary investigation indicates that the baby was delivered that day, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

"Detectives are now working to determine whether the baby was a stillbirth," the report states. "An autopsy is planned. The female who delivered the baby was located at the school and is receiving medical care."

Due to the "sensitive nature of this investigation," police aren't releasing any further details.
