Deputy Fatally Shoots Domestic Violence Suspect
A Prince George's County Sheriff's deputy shot a man at a Suitland home after responding to a 911 call.

A man was fatally shot in the chest early Thursday by a Prince George’s County sheriff’s deputy who responded to a domestic violence call with an armed suspect.
Officers were called to a Suitland home in the 2300 block of Houston Street
about 1 a.m. Thursday after a woman called 911.

Deputies were in the house talking with the female victim when the male suspect appeared at the front door and confronted them, the department says. A deputy fired his weapon, striking the unidentified suspect. He was taken to the Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead about 6 a.m.
The deputy who fired his weapon is a four-year veteran of the department assigned to the Domestic Violence Intervention Division. He has been placed on routine administrative leave pending further investigation.
Information about the deputy will be released on Friday, the department says. The identity of the suspect will be released once relatives have been notified.
