District Heights Son Admits Killing 81-Year-Old Mother: Police

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of his 81-year-old mother.

On Jan. 14 at approximately 8 a.m., Prince George's police officers were called to a home in the 2000 block of Brooks Drive in District Heights. When officers arrived, they found Madia Terry unresponsive in the living room of the home with bruising and trauma to her body, police said. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

During an interview with police detectives, Mark Terry admitted to fatally assaulting his mother during a dispute. He has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges.
