Dog Attacks Owner Causing Serious Injuries

Bowie police officers had to fatally shoot a dog after they found it attacking its owner Sunday morning. The man sustained serious injuries.

BOWIE, MD — A dog attacked its owner Sunday morning, leaving the man in serious condition. The dog was shot and killed by police.

The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. at a home in the 13000 block of Midsummer Lane. Bowie Police received a report of a dog attacking its owner. They arrived to find a 52-year-old man lying on the ground being attacked.

The officers attempted to subdue the dog, but were unsuccessful, so they shot the dog to stop the attack. The man sustained serious injuries from dog bites to multiple parts of his body and was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
