Driver Killed In Head-On Collision

Police are investigating a head-on collision in Oxon Hill that happened early Friday morning, claiming the life of a 24-year-old driver.

OXON HILL, MD — Detectives are investigating a fatal crash that happened early Friday morning in Oxon Hill, killing the 24-year-old driver.

According to Prince George's Police, the incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 27. Officers were called to the area of Indian Head Highway and the Capital Beltway for a report of a two-vehicle crash.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle was heading northbound in the southbound lanes of Indian Head Highway approaching the Capital Beltway overpass. For reasons still being investigated, that vehicle hit Alex Rodriquez Hines' southbound vehicle. Hines of Bryans Road was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police reported.
