Driver Killed After Rear-Ending Box Truck In Prince George's: Maryland State Police

The driver of a Chevrolet Trax has died after he rear-ended a box truck that was stopped at a traffic signal in Prince George's, MSP say.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that happened this afternoon in Prince George’s County on Central Avenue. The victim will not be identified by police until family members are notified.

Around 1:15 p.m. Friday, troopers from the Forestville Barrack arrived on the scene of a crash involving two vehicles on Central Avenue at Campus Way in Prince George’s County. According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of a Chevrolet Trax was traveling east on Central Avenue when it hit the rear of a white box truck that was stopped at a traffic signal on Central Avenue. There were no other reported injuries, MSP said.

The driver of the Chevrolet Trax was taken to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead by hospital personnel.
