Driver Of Stolen Motorcycle Hurt In Capital Beltway Crash: Police

A teen driving a stolen motorcycle in Prince George's County Saturday night was hurt in a crash on the Capital Beltway, state police said.

GREENBELT, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating the cause of a crash involving a stolen motorcycle in Prince George’s County Saturday evening on the Capital Beltway. The driver of the stolen 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle is Gerber Antonio Orellana, 18, of Riverdale, who was taken by ambulance to University of Maryland Prince George’s Hospital Center for treatment.

The other vehicle involved was a 2019 Nissan Sentra driven by Adama Lo, 52, of Halethorpe. Lo was taken by ambulance to UM Prince George’s Hospital Center. The one passenger in Lo’s vehicle refused medical treatment at the scene.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the crash was reported on the inner loop of I-495 before Kenilworth Avenue in Greenbelt. Investigators say the motorcycle, reported stolen from Fairfax, Virginia, struck the Nissan Sentra in lane four of I-495.

The Maryland State Police from the College Park Barrack responded to the crash, along with Prince George’s County Fire and EMS.

The cause of the crash has not been determined. Police said nothing has been ruled out as a cause or contributing factor. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
