Drivers Should Keep An Eye Out For Crews Conducting Audit Along Bowie Road

BOWIE, MD — City department of public works crews are conducting a roadway safety audit on Bowie Road, which connects US 1 to MD 197. The audit will look at roadway safety and traffic signal effectiveness to try and help reduce hazards for all road users, including pedestrians.

The safety audit being funded by a $30,000 grant from the National Capital Regional Transportation Planning Board.

Drivers are asked to be aware of crews out and about walking in the area and taking photos and measurements as part of the audit.

People who travel this road also should be aware that a part of it will be closed soon for crews to repair concrete. Details about the closure will be shared by the city soon.
