A D.C. man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a dump truck in Prince George's County, police say.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A fatal motorcycle crash Friday in Seat Pleasant claimed the life of the driver, 30-year-old Calvin Cornelius Days II of Washington, D.C.

On July 15 at approximately 1:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of East Capitol Street and Yacht Place for a collision involving a motorcycle and a dump truck. The preliminary investigation revealed Days was travelling westbound on East Capitol Street at the time of the collision, according to the police department.

The driver of the dump truck was attempting to make a left turn onto eastbound East Capitol Street from southbound Yacht Place, which required him to cross over the westbound lanes of East Capitol Street. While attempting to make that turn, the truck and motorcycle collided. Days was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the dump truck was not injured and remained on scene, the police department noted.
