Elementary Teacher Arrested in Prostitution Sting

A Silver Spring man who teaches at a Hyattsville elementary school has been charged with human trafficking and prostitution.

Lanham, MD — A Silver Spring man who teaches at a Hyattsville elementary school was arrested in a prostitution sting, police said.

Detectives arrested Martin Rye Brown, 29, of the 8000 block of Walden Road on Tuesday in Lanham.

Brown is a teacher at Langley Park-McCormick Elementary School in Hyattsville, according to Prince George’s County Police.

Brown is charged with two counts of prostitution and human trafficking.

Investigators say Brown solicited a prostitute and rented a room that was used for prostitution.

He's currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Prince George's County Public Schools said in a statement to FOX5: "Prince George's County Public Schools is aware of the arrest of a Langley Park McCormick Elementary School teacher. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement in its investigation. PGCPS is not going to tolerate this kind of conduct. The district remains focused on our commitment to ensure a quality education in a safe environment for the children of PGCPS."
