2nd Tuesday Lecture - Spiritualism in 19th Century America

Joan Chaconas, a Washington, DC historian and historian at the Mary Surratt House in Clinton, will speak on a popular 19th Century American topic - spirtualism. President and Mrs. Lincoln, as well as many other famous people of the time, dabbled in this belief - which purportedly enabled practicioners to communicate with those in the afterlife.
