Fatal 2-Car Crash In Temple Hills: Police

TEMPLE HILLS, MD -- A man has died after a two-car crash in Temple Hills on Wednesday evening, police say.

Police identified the deceased driver as 52-year-old Shawn Sims of Temple Hills. Police were called to the 4400 block of Branch Avenue at around 8 p.m. Jan. 10 to a report of a crash, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Sims was suffering from critical injuries at the scene and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

"The driver of the second car, an adult female, was also taken to the hospital with critical injuries," the report states. "The preliminary investigation indicates Sims was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of Branch Avenue at the crossover for Old Branch Avenue when the two cars collided in the northbound lanes."
