Two adults and three children have been displaced by the fire, which started in the basement Monday morning.

LARGO, MD — Prince George's County firefighters spent Monday morning battling a blaze that broke out in the basement of a home in Largo.

Firefighters were called to the 11600 block of Marjorie Drive to a two-story single-family home with smoke showing, according to Mark Brady, spokesman for the fire department.

They immediately started working to ventilate the upper floor and set up ladders. They located the fire in the basement and extinguished it. No injuries have been reported, but the fire did displace two adults and three children who lived there. The Red Cross headed to the scene to assist them.
