Around 2:30 p.m. April 19, Greenbelt Police were called to Schrom Hills Park located at 6915 Hanover Parkway to help with an unofficial senior skip day gathering of hundreds of kids. “This should never have happened,” Braveboy said.
The two suspects were identified with the help of witnesses, according to the Greenbelt Police Department. They were arrested April 29 by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force.
"We are continuing our investigation to determine the motive behind this incident. We hope that these senseless acts of violence come to an end. These avoidable events are ruining lives, both of the victims and the perpetrators," the Greenbelt Police Department stated.
The juveniles will be charged as adults and face of list of charges including attempted homicide.
“These kids will leave the school and they come over to the local park, and they bring Super Soakers and other squirt guns and they have a good time playing water-gun battles,” Greenbelt Police Chief Rick Bowers said during a press conference held the day of the shooting. “(It) happened last year and it was relatively peaceful.”
