Free Turkeys Gobbled Up At Stuff-a-Truck Holiday Meal Distribution Event
An estimated 1,500 vehicles drove through the annual Stuff-a-Truck holiday meal distribution event held at the FedEx Field parking lots.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — So many people turned out to receive a free turkey and all the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal that organizers ran out of birds Friday during the Stuff-a-Truck holiday meal distribution event in Landover. Held at the FedEx Field parking lots, Prince George’s County Community Relations Director Eunisha Davis anticipated at least 1,500 vehicles showing up - an estimated 17,100 residents helped.
The preregistered and screened recipients received not just a full Thanksgiving meal, but enough food to feed a family for approximately a week.
County Executive Angela Alsobrooks stopped by the event to help load vehicles. She said the huge turnout is a sign that that food insecurity is still "a very real problem."

“The demand is tremendous and the prices have gone up this year so we still have a ways to go to be able to satisfy the needs we have with food insecurity but this is a happy day. People are really happy,” Alsobrooks told WJLA.
