Fright Fest Begins This Weekend at Six Flags America ... And It's Not For Kids

As dusk settles on Prince George's County, Six Flags America will be taking on a very different feel starting this Saturday.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — As fall sets in, it's time for the monsters and ghouls to come out, and that all starts this weekend at Six Flags America with "Fright Fest."

By day, Six Flags will continue to be family friendly, but once dusk hits, it's time for any kids below the age of 13 -- "or anyone who scares easily" -- to leave the park, says a statement from Six Flags.

Fright Fest runs from Sept. 24 until Halloween, Oct. 31. The park will host haunted houses, mazes and other spooky thrills.

"Only the bravest of souls dare to enter our haunted houses," the statement says. "You’ll be blindsided by darkness as you find your way through the labyrinth while being hunted — never knowing what is lurking around the next corner. Are you ready to face your worst fears?"

Among the features: a "Terror Toy Shop" featuring teddy bears "not filled with fluff, but blood and gore," and gingerbread men who "feast on you."

There's also an invasion of zombies in "Aftermath," a "Spider Outbreak" and the "Voodoo Curse" -- a Mardi Gras party "gone horribly wrong."

These features will be an extra cost in addition to a regular pass at Six Flags.
