Fright Fest Security Prompts New Bag Policy At Six Flags In MD
Six Flags America in Bowie is limiting the size of bags during Fright Fest and reminding guests to "behave appropriately" or be thrown out.

BOWIE, MD — Six Flags America in Bowie is tightening its security procedures around bags people can carry into its theme parks for the duration of its Fright Fest events, the company said.
That change includes all Six Flags parks in the company, which announced the change on its social media sites.
Park visitors will be limited to bags or purses that measure no larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. In addition, all bags, backpacks and purses must meet the size restriction and go through X-ray screening.

The only bag size exceptions will be for diaper bags for infants or young children, or bags carried for medical reasons, the company says.
Six Flags did not give specifics of what has prompted what is called "enhanced public safety measures," which will be in place for the remainder of Fright Fest, which wraps up Oct. 30.

The company also warned visitors from unruly, disruptive or offensive behavior, including line-jumping and profanity, saying it will not be tolerated.
"Because Six Flags is a family park, we expect guests to behave appropriately," the announcement about the bag policy said. "Violating our park policies may be cause for ejection from the park without refund."
It was not immediately clear whether the maximum bag size will remain in place when the parks reopen in the spring.
