Give Back To Bowie As Fire & Rescue Squad Volunteer

The Bowie Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad is hosting a series of orientations for adults and teens who want to volunteer.

BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad needs you. BVFD is looking for citizens interested in giving back to the community by becoming volunteer firefighters, emergency medical technicians and auxiliary support members.

The county's firefighting and rescue organization is hosting a series of orientations for both adults (18 and over) and teens (16 and 17). BVFD will provide all training, equipment and protective gear.

The next orientation and application programs are:

  • Adults (18 and older): Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m, at Station 43, 16408 Pointer Ridge Drive, Bowie, MD 20716.
  • Teens (16 & 17): Saturday Jan. 18, 10 a.m., at Station 39, 15454 Annapolis Road, Bowie, MD 20715. Interested teens must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, for an application review and additional paperwork and procedures.
