GoFundMe Set Up For Fatally Shot 2-Year-Old Who Was 'Full Of Joy And Love'
A GoFundMe has been created for a 2-year-old fatally shot while on a walk with his mom Thursday in Langley Park.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A GoFundMe has been created to help with the funeral expenses for a two-year-old shot and killed while his 17-year-old mom pushed him in his stroller while they were walking near the Bedford Station Apartments in the 1400 block of Kanawha Street in Langley Park Thursday night.
Jeremy Poou-Caceres celebrated his second birthday with his family on Jan. 12. On Feb. 8, he died at a hospital, the victim of a shooting between two groups of men, police say.
Jeremy's mom Rose Carceras, 17, was left with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in the leg. She will require surgery but is expected to be okay. Carceras spoke with FOX 5 Sunday and shared that Jeremy was the reason why she kept moving forward in life.

"It’s not easy. Not only for me but for my family because Jeremy was not only my son, but he was also most of, like, with my two aunts, they were like the mother of my son too. They always took care of him and it was hard for me because he was the person I was holding onto to keep going with my life and now I don’t have him," Caceres told FOX 5.
The young mother told FOX 5 that her son was a sweet little guy who loved Cocomelon and breakfast; his favorite drink was orange juice and he loved eating eggs.

"Jeremy was a child so full of joy and love. He was always so well behaved, and he loved watching Cocomelon. We could call his name for hours and he wouldn’t answer; it would be like he was in his own world but once he heard the bees buzzing he would come running. We all loved Jeremy and it’s so hard to accept that our Jeremy who just turned two years old Jan. 12 was murdered Feb. 8. A boy who was just starting to live his life loses it to gang violence. I know it’s a lot to ask but please anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. Rest in peace, Jeremy," wrote Jacobo Saravia who organized the GoFundMe.
Friday afternoon, two suspects were arrested in connection to Jeremy's shooting death. The suspects arrested have been identified as Israel Fuentes Jr., 33, of Lewisdale and Johnny Alejandro Turcios, 28, also of Lewisdale. Both men have been charged with first- and second-degree murder, Prince George's County Police Assistant Chief Vernon Hale III said Friday. Investigators believe two other suspects were in a stolen vehicle with Fuentes and Turcios, however.
A detective in the area heard gunfire around 5:30 p.m. Thursday and went to Bedford Station Apartments, located in the 1400 block of Kanawah Street. He found the young mother and her toddler with gunshot wounds in a courtyard, according to the Prince George's Police Department. The police department received multiple reports of people shooting in the area. Police said Thursday night during the news conference that it wasn't clear what led to the shooting.
“That young baby did nothing to anyone ... did not deserve to die because someone wants to come out here and play with guns. Bullets come down and have real consequences. I can only pray they weren't trying to kill a child. A child is dead, a mother shot. That baby won't get to be a future PG police officer or live his best life,” Prince George's Police Assistant Chief Vernon Hale III said during a news conference held after the shooting Thursday night. "My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and those around this community who had to witness this. Somebody in this community knows who did this. I'm asking each and every one of you to contact your friends and family. This isn't about snitching, this is about justice for victims."
