Gov. Hogan, Bowie Baysox to Auction Jerseys in Cancer Fundraiser
Gov. Larry Hogan's image is on two bobbleheads -- with and without hair -- that Bowie Baysox fans can receive at July 24 game.

Bowie, MD —Cancer survivor and Maryland governor Larry Hogan is lending his likeness to a unique baseball bobblehead to benefit cancer charities.
Gov. Hogan was diagnosed in June 2015 with non-Hodgkins lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes. Doctors said the cancer was very advanced and very aggressive, with more than 60 tumors found in his body.
But by November, Hogan was pronounced officially cancer free after multiple rounds of chemotherapy, and credited the prayers of residents across the state for helping him to recover.

The treatments caused Hogan to lose his full head of gray hair. And now two bobbleheads will commemorate his battle.

The governor and the Bowie Baysox have teamed up to raise awareness about cancer and raise money for charities related to the disease. On Sunday, July 24, Baysox players will wear special lime green jerseys when they play the Erie Seawolves, as a way to support all those battling non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
The jerseys will be auctioned off during the game to benefit area cancer-related charity organizations.
Two bobbleheads of Hogan have been made: one with hair and one without hair. The first 1,000 fans age 18 and older through the gates will get their pick of the two bobbleheads, and the version that runs out first will be declared the winner of the Bobblection, the governor said on Facebook.
Game time at Prince George's Stadium is 2:05 p.m. on July 24.
Single game tickets are now on sale at www.baysox.com.
