Hands-on Electronics Experience, Self-Checkout Lanes Headline Remodel of Bowie Walmart

BOWIE, Md. – May 25, 2017 – Hands-on shopping experiences. More products. Faster checkout. Easy pickup of Walmart.com orders. It's all part of the recently completed remodel of the Bowie Walmart at 3300 Crain Highway.

The Bowie store was selected to feature Walmart’s new, state-of-the-art electronics department that allows customers to try tablets, laptops and other technology on display before purchase. In addition, customers who order from Walmart.com can now have their packages sent without shipping charges to the Walmart Pickup kiosk conveniently located at the front of the store.

Other remodel highlights include the return of a fabric department, a redesigned baby department with strollers at floor level and easier access to everyday products like formula, 12 self-checkout lanes to help customers save time, and more.

“This remodel, along with our everyday low prices, represents our continued investment in Bowie and a step to ensure we’re meeting our customer’s evolving needs,” said Store Manager Daniel Hall. “Listening to customers and incorporating the products and experiences they want is what it means to be a store of the community.”

Residents are invited to a grand reopening celebration, scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, May 28. The Bowie Walmart will host fun events for the whole family, and samples and giveaways will be available, while supplies last.
