Here's What Is Open, Closed For Christmas In Prince George's County

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Local and county offices will not be open Friday, Christmas Eve, and Saturday, Christmas Day. Prince George's County residents receiving county-contracted trash and recycling collection will not receive collection services on Friday. Instead, it will be picked up on Saturday.

All parks and rec services such as senior activity centers, sports facilities, historic sites, regional parks, community centers, art centers and the indoor pool complex are all closed Christmas Day, as well.

The following will be closed for the holidays;

• Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill (Closed Dec. 25 only)
• Brown Station Road Public Convenience Drop-off Center (Closed Dec. 25 only)
• Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center (Closed Dec. 25 only)
• Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site Recycling Acceptance Site (Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill - Closed Dec. 25 only)
• Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site (Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill - Closed Dec. 25 only)
• Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility (1000 Ritchie Road) (Closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25)
• Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility (Closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25)
• Bulky trash collection by appointment only; no collections Dec. 24, scheduled collections resume Dec. 27)

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George's County Department of Public Works and Transportation, will operate a Saturday service schedule Friday with last trips at 4 p.m. to the end of the line. TheBus will not operate Saturday. Regular COVID-operated service of TheBus will resume Dec. 27.

The County’s Call-A-Bus service, including the PGC Link and Orange Circulator, will not operate Friday or Saturday. Regular COVID-operations services will resume Monday.

The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement will be closed Friday. Regular business hours will resume Monday.

PGC311 will be closed Friday and will return to regular operations Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.

Prince George's County Public Schools will dismiss three hours early Dec. 23 and remain closed Dec. 24-31.

Prince George's County Memorial Library System will be closed Dec. 24-27.
