Enjoy Live Music, Face Painting, Outdoor Music And More At Heritage Weekend Celebration

Several activities will be happening Friday through Sunday at the Heritage Weekend Celebration in Prince George's County.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Heritage Weekend Celebration begins Friday, May 20, and runs through the weekend. The event kicks off with a wine and design activity at Belair Mansion where participants can create a red, white and blue deco mesh wreath for the home..

On Saturday morning, drop by Belair Mansion at 10 a.m. to purchase herbs, vegetables and flowering plants from the Bowie-Crofton Garden Club and local vendors. Also, meet the Bowie Green Team as they share eco-friendly gardening practices. Bring young future gardeners and have them try their hands at garden and nature activities. Then, that evening, join organizers under the stars at the Belair Mansion at 8:30 p.m. for a free showing of the movie “Babe,” the story of an adorable pig who is not sure what his place is in this world. The movie will begin at dark. Bring lawn chairs or blankets.

Finally, on Sunday, embrace your Maryland roots at Belair Stable from 12 - 4 p.m. and celebrate thoroughbred horseracing and the farming history of Belair Stable. Enjoy music from Durham Station Band, enjoy the “Not-So-Little Three Little Pigs” puppet show, have your face painted, take a pony ride, try your hand at a craft and play fair games in the kid’s zone.
