High School Student Killed In Car Accident Tuesday: Prince George's Police
An 18-year-old Wise High School student has died in a single-vehicle car accident while another 18-year-old who was driving was injured.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — An 18-year-old female who attended Wise High School died in a car crash Tuesday morning in Upper Marlboro.
Officers with the Prince George's County Police Department responded to Ritchie Marlboro and Dunsmore Terrace Road around 9 a.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash. The 18-year-old female later identified as Cayliy Haygood was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and an 18-year-old male, who was driving, was hospitalized after the incident.
According to WUSA, police believe the car the two students were in crashed into a landscaping trailer parked on the side of the road.

Upper Marlboro resident Jennifer Rios was one of the first people to respond to the crash. She told WUSA that said she and others who live in the neighborhood have repeatedly asked officials for speeding to be addressed along that stretch of Ritchie Marlboro Road.
WUSA revealed that another crash happened two blocks away from this crash a few hours earlier that same day. Wise High School Principal Taryn Washington sent a letter to families Tuesday about the incident and how to comfort grieving students, WUSA reported.
