Holiday Movies, Santa, Cirque Dreams Holidaze At National Harbor

Christmas movies will be shown on a giant screen Sundays at 2 p.m.; Santa will be available for visits in December at National Harbor.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — National Harbor will celebrate the holidays with a 54-foot-tall tree and a multisensory experience where people can stroll through iconic scenes pulled from Christmas movies. There also will be ice bumper cars, snow tubing and movies show on an outdoor waterfront screen at 150 National Plaza starting at 2 p.m. on Sundays.

Upcoming movies are as follows:

  • Nov. 21, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
  • Nov. 28, A Christmas Story*
  • Dec. 5, The Year Without a Santa Claus*
  • Dec. 12, Elf*
  • Dec. 19, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation*
  • Jan. 2, It’s a Wonderful Life

*these movies are also part of Gaylord National’s I Love Christmas Movies experience

MGM will present Cirque Dreams Holidaze Dec. 16-19, a family holiday spectacular featuring a Broadway-style musical infused with contemporary circus artistry.

Santa will be at National Harbor on Saturdays and Sundays Dec. 4-19 from 2 to 4 p.m. Bobby McKey’s will also be in the Waterfront Plaza from 3 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 13 to entertain prior to the tree lighting.

Free holiday hot chocolate will be available at various retailers on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. through Jan. 2. Free cocoa mugs will be given out by select retailers with a purchase of $50 or more, while supplies last.

Toys for Tots will collect new, unwrapped toys for those in need on American Way on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
