Huge Festival in Bowie This Weekend

The Bowie International Festival is set for Oct. 1, and it will feature just about every culture you can imagine.

BOWIE, MD — There are few areas that can boast the diversity of the D.C. region, and that will be on display this weekend for the Bowie International Festival. Experience music, food, wares and other aspects of many different cultures this Saturday, Oct. 1 at Allen Pond Park from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.

"There’s entertainment for everyone - from a Chinese dragon to the music and dance of Indonesia, to the dancers of Europe, Asia and the Americas, and the bands representing the heritage of Germany, Latin America, the Caribbean, Jamaica and Scotland," according to a statement from the City of Bowie. "There’s also food from different countries and artisans selling everything from African jewelry, crafts from many countries, to clothing from Ecuador. Children can travel around the world with their 'passports' and enjoy crafts, stories and games from many cultures."

Admission is free and there is plenty of parking either in the park or on streets nearby. The park is at 3330 Northview Drive.
