Huge Upper Marlboro Blaze Destroys Home (Video)

A family has been displaced after a fire ripped through their home on Monday.

UPPER MARLBORO — An Upper Marlboro family is homeless after a fire destroyed their home on Monday.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 9900 block of Gay Drive at around 3:30 p.m. and found fire showing from the rear and side of the single-family house at that location, according to a report from the Prince George's County Fire Department. The video is embedded at the bottom of this post.

One occupant managed to escape to safety. Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 15 minutes.

Authorities think that the fire was accidental, but are still investigating the cause and origin of the blaze, the report states.

The damage was estimated to be about $125,000.
