Husband Shoots Wife, Drives to Police Station: Officials

An Oxon Hill man drove to a Prince George's County Police station to turn himself in for his wife's murder, authorities said.

Oxon Hill, MD — A Prince George’s County man drove to a county police station Saturday night and told police he had killed his estranged wife.

Daron Lincoln Odom, 41, of the 7400 block of Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill has been charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife, Jamila Odom, 41, of Beechwood Court in Waldorf.

About 10:10 p.m. Saturday, police were called to the 7400 block of Oxon Hill Road for the report of a shooting. They found the victim inside a car suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

After the shooting, police say Daron Odom drove to the District IV police station in Oxon Hill and turned himself in.

Odom is charged with first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter, assault and weapons charges. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

According to Maryland online court records, Daron Odom filed for divorce in May 2016.
