International STEM Certification Awarded To Prince George's County School
A Prince George's County School has received international STEM certification. A recognition ceremony will be held Aug. 29 at noon.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — St. Mary of the Mills School in Laurel has been internationally recognized as a newly certified STEM school by Cognia Accreditation Services. The school has become the first school in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington to attain this accreditation.
During the certification process, St. Mary of the Mills Schools was recognized for its commitment to fostering a creative learning environment and high performance groups.
"As a school with a future-focused program, we are dedicated to providing high-quality learning experiences that will prepare students for real world application through both academic and extracurricular STEM activities. This 'beyond the classroom' approach has set St. Mary of the Mills Schools apart as a leader in STEM instructional design," school officials announced.

A recognition ceremony will be held Aug. 29 at noon at the school, which is located at 106 St. Mary's Place in Laurel.
