Intruder Arrested At Home Of Top Air Force Leader At Joint Base Andrews, Spouse Fired Shot
One of the Air Force's top leaders said an intruder on Joint Base Andrews reached her home and her husband fired a warning shot.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Officials say an intruder who breached Joint Base Andrews in Prince George's County made it to the home of one of the Air Force's top leaders before the leader's spouse opened fire.
Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force JoAnne Bass confirmed the intruder had reached her home on Monday. The chief master sergeant is the Air Force’s top enlisted leader, according to Air Force Times.
During the incident, which occurred at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, “a man gained unauthorized access to a JBA housing area,” a statement posted to the Joint Base Andrews Twitter account said. “A resident discharged a firearm, security forces arrived on scene to apprehend the intruder and law enforcement is investigating the incident.”

“We appreciate the outpouring of support we received after this incident. I can confirm that my husband, Rahn, was involved and is safe, thanks to the quick response and professionalism of our security forces airmen,” she said in a statement to the Air Force Times on Tuesday. “We are grateful they were able to apprehend the individual, and we will continue to work with law enforcement as their investigation continues.”
Joint Base Andrews is where Air Force One, the presidential aircraft, and other aircrafts are located including the 747 aircraft that can function as an airborne nuclear command and control center if needed, the Associated Press said.
