It Pays to be Green in Bowie

The City is offering incentives for City of Bowie residents who plant trees, complete energy audits, or certify their yards as NWF habitats.

The City is offering incentives for City of Bowie residents who plant trees, complete energy audits, or certify their yards as wildlife habitats. There are $50 and $100 tree rebates available at Patuxent Nursery with lowered delivery and planting rates for program participants.

Details of this program can be found at www.cityofbowie.org/treerebate or applications are available at the nursery.

There is a no cost BGE comprehensive energy audit available for Bowie homeowners, which is a $100 value.

Homeowners should complete an application online at www.cityofbowie.org/eap or stop by the Planning Department at City Hall Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. to fill out an application.

Additionally, there is a $20 rebate if you have not certified your yard as a National Wildlife Federation Wildlife Habitat yet. Send receipt of certification to klarson@cityofbowie.org to receive your rebate. Details at www.cityofbowie.org/habitat.
