Jogger Fights Off Attacker Who Hit Her With Stick
The woman was jogging Thursday morning in Mitchellville when a man reportedly struck her several times with a stick.

A jogger was able to fight off an attacker who struck her several times with a stick, including blows to the head, and police are asking the public to help find the assailant.
Prince George’s County Police say the attack happened about 6:20 a.m. Thursday in the 1500 block of Silverado Court in Mitchellville. A woman who was jogging told police that when she turned around to head home, a man was standing in front of her and hit her in the head with a stick. Although he hit her several more times, she fought back and he ran into the woods at the end of Golf Course Drive.
The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries but has since been released.

The suspect is described as a black man, about 25 years old, roughly 5’8 with a thin build. He had on a black hat, black hoodie, black shirt, black running pants with a white stripe and was carrying a black backpack.
Detectives are working to establish the motive and identify the suspect. This is the first such reported incident in the area.
