'Kevin Durant Day' Festival Postponed In Prince George's County
The parade will still go on, but the festival part of the event has been postponed, Seat Pleasant city officials said.
SEAT PLEASANT, MD — A portion of the first annual Kevin Durant Day in Seat Pleasant has been postponed, city officials announced Wednesday. The parade will still go on, but the festival part of the event has been postponed.
The event was scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 17. The festival portion of the event has been postponed, but the parade will go on as scheduled from 10-11 a.m., officials said.
City officials cited "unforeseen circumstances and scheduling conflicts" as the reason for the rescheduling.

The change in plans comes after the event was heavily advertised in the area and on social media:

The festival is held to welcome Durant home and celebrate his "extraordinary win as a 2017 NBA Champion with the Golden State Warriors, receiving the Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award, and his philanthropic efforts in his hometown of Seat Pleasant and Prince George’s County," officials said.

The postponed festival portion of the event was supposed to feature food vendors, product vendors, music and more at Seat Pleasant Drive.
The parade will leave from the Judith P. Hoyer Montessori School and will travel West down Seat Pleasant Drive to Addison Road, ending at Goodwin Park.
