Kevin Durant, MD Native, 1 Of 4 Nets With Coronavirus: Report

MD native Kevin Durant and three other members of the Brooklyn Nets have tested positive for the new coronavirus, according to reports.

BROOKLYN, NY — Prince George's County native Kevin Durant is one four Brooklyn Nets players to test positive for the new coronavirus, according to the website The Athletic.

"Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine," Durant told the Athletic. "We're going to get through this."

Durant grew up in PG County and played basketball at National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Maryland; Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia; and Rockville's Montrose Christian School. He played one season at the University of Texas, before he was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Brooklyn Nets announced that four players on the team have tested positive for the new coronavirus. Although, the Nets did not identify which players had tested positive.

Of the four players, one is exhibiting symptoms and all of the infected players are isolated and undergoing medical care from team physicians.

Durant, the NBA star who currently plays for the Brooklyn Nets, is producing a documentary that looks at why Prince George's County produces so many great basketball players, according to news reports.

His Thirty Five Ventures company is producing the documentary, entitled "In the Water," according to The Sports Business Journal. The film will focus on Durant and other players from PG County, such as University of Maryland standout Len Bias and Victor Olapido, the all-star guard for the Pacers. Other basketball talent that came from PG County include Markell Fultz, Jeff Green, Quinn Cook, and Ty Lawson.

Showtime will air the documentary, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The league suspended its season on March 11 after the Utah Jazz's Rudy Gobert was confirmed to have the virus.
