Lanham Mother Arrested In Fatal Stabbing Of 21-Year-Old Son: Police
A 42-year-old Lanham mother has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing of her 21-year-old son, Prince George's Police say.
LANHAM, MD — The mother of 21-year-old Cristos Johnson of Lanham has been charged in connection to his fatal stabbing inside their home.
On Jan. 25 at approximately 7:15 a.m., officers were called to the 8000 block of Greenfield Drive for a report of a stabbing. They found Johnson with a stab wound. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital, according to Prince George's Police.
A preliminary investigation indicates the suspect, Johnson's 42-year-old mother Querida Rivera of Lanham, stabbed him during an argument. Police Corporal Antonia Washington said in a statement to WUSA9 that the the incident was being investigated as a “possible self-defense case amongst family members.”

After consulting with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, the decision was made to charge Rivera with first-degree murder and related charges. She has been taken into custody.

“On January 25, 2024, my beloved grandson, Cristos Miguel Johnson, tragically passed away at the young age of 21,” wrote Joan Rivera on the GoFundMe page. “He leaves behind two younger siblings who absolutely adored him and will miss him dearly.”
