Lanham Mother Arrested In Fatal Stabbing Of 21-Year-Old Son: Police

A 42-year-old Lanham mother has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing of her 21-year-old son, Prince George's Police say.

LANHAM, MD โ€” The mother of 21-year-old Cristos Johnson of Lanham has been charged in connection to his fatal stabbing inside their home.

On Jan. 25 at approximately 7:15 a.m., officers were called to the 8000 block of Greenfield Drive for a report of a stabbing. They found Johnson with a stab wound. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital, according to Prince George's Police.

A preliminary investigation indicates the suspect, Johnson's 42-year-old mother Querida Rivera of Lanham, stabbed him during an argument. Police Corporal Antonia Washington said in a statement to WUSA9 that the the incident was being investigated as a โ€œpossible self-defense case amongst family members.โ€

After consulting with the Prince Georgeโ€™s County Stateโ€™s Attorneyโ€™s Office, the decision was made to charge Rivera with first-degree murder and related charges. She has been taken into custody.
