Largo Suspect Charged In Fatal Temple Hills Shooting: Prince George's Police

A Largo man faces charges in connection to a fatal shooting that happened over the weekend in Temple Hills, police said.

TEMPLE HILLS, MD — A Largo man has been charged in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in Temple Hills Saturday.

Prince George's police officers were called to the 2300 block of Iverson Street around 4:05 a.m. Feb. 10 for a report of a shooting. While patrolling the area, officers found 36-year-old Estep Kyler Jr. in the 2300 block of Iverson Street with a gunshot wound. Kyler told officers he had just been in a fight with his friend, Andrew Washington, as the two sat in a car in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Iverson Street, police said.

Officers found 40-year-old Andrew Carnell Washington of Washington, D.C., inside the car with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A preliminary investigation indicates that Kyler shot Washington during the fight and Kyler shot himself during the dispute.

Kyler is in custody at a hospital where he is being treated for injuries not considered to be life-threatening. He has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges. Anyone with information on this case who would like to speak to a detective can call 301-516-2512.
