Laurel Man Faces Child Pornography Possession Charges: Maryland State Police

A Laurel man faces child pornography possession charges after an investigation found evidence on his devices, Maryland State Police said.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A Laurel man has been arrested and charged with eight counts of possession of child pornography after a Maryland State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Investigation developed evidence of possession of child pornography.

Jason Pereira, 40, was taken into custody Wednesday after an investigation launched in September 2023 by the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit revealed Pereira was in possession of child pornography online. Pereira was arrested at his home after officials executed a search warrant there, the Maryland State Police reported.

A preliminary forensic review of Pereira's electronic devices revealed multiple images of child pornography, according to the Maryland State Police.
