Light It Up: Register for Bowie Holiday Lights Contest

Registration for the city of Bowie’s 33rd annual Holiday House Decorating Contest registration has begun

Brighten up for the holidays by either entering your, or the house of a friend, or neighbor. Prizes include two $100 Family Award Winners, ten Best of Bowie Awards, and ten Spirit Awards.

The Best of Bowie recipients will receive a White House ornament and the Spirit Award winners will be given a Belair Mansion ornament.

The contest is free to enter and open to any resident within city limits who submits an entry form by the deadline. Entry forms are available on the city’s website at www.cityofbowie.org and they may also be picked up at City Hall.

On the entry form, residents must select the appropriate category: Colonial, Religious or Traditional.

Entry forms must be returned to City Hall by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7. Lights and decorations should be visible when judging takes place between 6 and 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Adults who are interested in being a judge are encouraged to contact City Hall.

All contest entrants are invited to a Holiday Awards Reception at City Hall at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14.
