Lightning Sparks Fire Causing $25K In Damage To Ft. Washington Home
Prince George's Co. officials reported a house fire in Ft. Washington they believe was sparked by lighting, causing $25K in damage.
FORT WASHINGTON, MD — A lightning strike sparked a house fire in Fort Washington Saturday night that displaced six people.
The fire caused an estimated $25,000 worth of damage to the one-story single family home, which is located in the 2400 block of Grange Hall Court, according to Prince George's County fire officials.
Storms moved through the area late Saturday night and the fire was discovered shortly before midnight. Crews found flames shooting through the roof, which were quickly extinguished, officials noted.
