Loaded Gun Snuck Into School By Student Involved In Brawls Earlier In The Week: Police
An 18-year-old student believed to have been involved in the fights on Tuesday snuck a gun into school Thursday, Prince George's police say.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — An 18-year-old student at Charles Herbert Flowers High School took a loaded gun to school Thursday. This incident follows 10 fights that broke out Tuesday at the school.
Around 8:20 a.m. Thursday, the Prince George's County Police Department was alerted of a student with a gun by school security personnel. The gun was confiscated and the student, Ke’Shawn Reeves of Lanham, has been arrested, police said.
According to a letter sent out to the school community from the school's lead administrator Diedra Smalls-Screws, the student was let in by another student through a side door which prompted a search by school security.

The letter stated that no students or staff members were harmed or actively threatened in Thursday's incident. It also said "the safety of our students is our top priority."
"Please assist in our efforts to maintain a safe learning environment by discussing with your child acceptable behaviors that support a positive school climate," the letter stated.

Sources told 7News Maryland Bureau Chief Brad Bell that it was believed Reeves tried to avoid metal detectors at the main entrance by entering a side door. The source also told 7News that Reeves was involved in one of several fights at the school on Tuesday.
"This year has been a very disruptive year for all of the students here at Flowers and I personally as a parent would like Mr. House to pay more attention to what's going on here. This situation is completely out of control," parent leader Felicia Hill told WJLA.
Ten fights erupted between students Tuesday during the school day at Charles Herbert Flowers High School. Then students from another school showed up at the end of the day Dec. 19 to fight Flowers students., Patch reported.
In a viral video posted on social media and shared by Fox 5 DC, it appears a large brawl broke out in the hallway of the high school. School administrators sent a letter to parents Wednesday, alerting them of the "concerning series of multiple altercations" that unfolded Tuesday.
Reeves will be charged with handgun on person, dangerous weapon on school property, loaded handgun on person and additional charges, according to the police department.
