Local Rapper 'Swipey' Shot to Death in PG County: Report

Douglas Brooks, a.k.a. "Swipey," had performed alongside rapping superstar and D.C. native Wale, according to a report.

A local rapper was shot to death in Prince George's County early Sunday morning. Douglas Myron Brooks, 18, of Suitland -- who went by the rapper name "Swipey," according to a report -- was found in the 3600 block of Parkway Terrace Drive in Suitland suffering from a gunshot wound at around 1:05 a.m.

Police don't think this was a random crime, but aren't yet sure of a motive for the shooting, the police report states. Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Washington Post reported that Brooks rapped under the name "Swipey," and he performed for the record label M.O.P3. He had even performed alongside the rapper Wale, a D.C. native.
