Man Arrested In 2017 Lanham Murder: Police

Police charged the man with fatally shooting Troy Foster last August.

LANHAM, MD -- Police have arrested a man suspected of shooting to death another man in Lanham last summer in what police say was a botched robbery.

Police arrested 26-year-old Benson Thorne of Northwest D.C. on charges of killing 24-year-old Troy Foster of Southeast D.C. back on Aug. 11, 2017, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police were called to the 7000 block of Palamar Turn in Lanham at 9:15 a.m. on that date for a welfare check, and found Foster lying on a footpath in a wooded area with gunshot wounds to his body, the report states. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
