Man Arrested In 2023 Fatal Hyattsville Stabbing
The suspect wanted in a 2023 fatal stabbing that happened in Hyattsville has been arrested. He now faces murder charges.
HYATTSVILLE, MD — A 67-year-old man has been arrested and charged in the 2023 fatal stabbing of 33-year-old Avrell Milam in Hyattsville.
On Aug.30, 2023, at around 2:55 a.m., Hyattsville police officers were called to the 2900 block of Belcrest Center Drive for a report of an unresponsive person. Officers found Milam outside with trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Prince George's Police Department detectives took over the investigation and identified 67-year-old Kevin Warbington of no fixed address as the suspect. A warrant for his arrest was issued in early September 2026.

The PGPD’s fugitive unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, found and arrested Warbington in Washington, D.C., where he remains pending extradition to Prince George’s County.
Warbington has been charged with first- and second-degree murder, as well as related charges. Detectives said there isn't a connection that's been established between the suspect and victim.
