Man Convicted In Girlfriend's Death After She Was Found Covered In Concrete

SUITLAND, MD — The boyfriend of 44-year-old Sherron Turner, who was found wrapped in plastic and partially encased in concrete during a welfare check in 2025, has been convicted of second-degree murder and disposal of a body in an unauthorized place.

On April 24, 2025, Prince George's police officers conducted a welfare check at an apartment where Turner and her boyfriend, Michael McClanahan, lived, which is located in the 2300 block of Ewing Avenue. Officers found Turner's body wrapped in plastic and partially covered in concrete. Officers called homicide detectives to the scene to investigate.

On April 26, 2025, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Turner died due to blunt force trauma. The manner of death was ruled a homicide. Based on the autopsy results and their investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Turner's live-in boyfriend, McClanahan.

McClanahan fled the scene in Turner's vehicle before being apprehended in Washington, D.C.

Evidence presented at trial showed that neighbors heard a violent altercation between McClanahan and Turner days earlier.

McClanahan faces a maximum penalty of 41 years in prison. Sentencing has been scheduled for Oct. 6.
