Man Dies from Injuries Suffered in August Accident

A Hyattsville man who was hit by a car on Aug. 9 while crossing a street outside a crosswalk has died from his injuries.

The Prince George’s County Police Department says Fredy Gonzalez Hernandez, 30, of Allison Street in Hyattsville was hit by a car on Aug. 9. The accident happened in the 1800 block of University Boulevard in Hyattsville.

When officers arrived, they found Hernandez in the roadway with critical injuries. He was taken to the hospital, where he died Friday his injuries.

The preliminary investigation shows Hernandez was struck as he crossed University Boulevard; he was not in a crosswalk at the time. The driver remained at the scene of the accident.
